Warren could also play DE for the Vols. He was recruited by UT as a DE originally but chose FSU. They moved him to TE. Either way, he would be a great addition to the team.

I don't think doofus understands how good this kid is. He's a 5* blue chip athlete. There were like 25-30 5* kids in the entire country this year. He did in his first year as a freshmen on an offense as bad as UT's in 05, what Brown did this year as a JR on a good offense. Brown will even be lucky to get any reps at TE this coming season with both of the Cottam's probably taking that rolling leaving him with h-back and fb duties. Warren's a special player who could play on both sides of the ball. He really impressed me when they played UM. He was giving Baraka Atkins fits.
I am exicted to see him come to UT he is a big time playmaker that can help them out on the O side of the ball. But if this kid is gonna lose 2 years i wish he would stay at FSU you dont wanna see that kind of talent wasted. He was a awesome athlete for FSU but i can not wait to see him ware the Orange and White.
Cool beans....
Another 5star player...

Tallahassee, Fla. -- Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden confirmed on Tuesday that at this time FSU will not grant Brandon Warren's request to be released from his scholarship. Student privacy rights prevent any FSU officials from making specific comments on the subject.
Warren was not available for comment.
Yeah there talking about it on volquest, said it was a very wrong thing to be done and that even if he couldent play ball for 2 years,He would never return to FSU.Also said he has a great chance to get a med hardship and could play right away.

FSU denies Warren's requests for release

Former Florida State tight end Brandon Warren has been denied his request for a release from his scholarship that would allow him to transfer to the University of Tennessee without having to pay his own way.
It is an unusual but not an unexpected move by Coach Bobby Bowden and FSU. Since Warren left FSU on Feb. 9 there has been speculation in the media that he would not be granted a release to transfer to Tennessee which is near his Alcoa (TN) home. Warren impressed as a true freshman last season.
Warren's mother, Deidre, expressed disappointment in the decision.
"I am very disappointed in Florida State right now," she said. "I guess I thought better of Coach Bowden."
FSU acknowledged its denial of the release but noted that because of privacy laws, FSU officials nor Bowden could comment.
Without a release from FSU, Warren would have to pay his way to Tennessee next year. And to be eligible to play next season he must receive three different waivers from the NCAA ? including two that are academic related. By withdrawing from FSU during the spring semester, he will not earn the minimum six hours required of student-athletes during a semester or the combined 18 hours for the fall and spring semesters required by the NCAA.
Any NCAA Division I football player who transfers to another Division I school must sit out the next season unless he is granted a hardship waiver by the NCAA. Warren's mother, Deidre, underwent surgery to remove a cancerous kidney in 2005.
FSU athletic department policy allows for Warren to appeal to the school's NCAA faculty representative Joe Beckham. A hearing would be set up and Warren and the FSU football program would present their sides to Beckham and non-athletic department personnel. Their decision will be final.
"We're definitely going to appeal to somebody," Deidre Warren said.
Warren, who requested his release last week, had 27 receptions as a true freshman during the regular season. He seriously considered leaving following the Emerald Bowl but returned to Tallahassee.
Deidre Warren would not comment on why her son left FSU and made the request for his release.
"That will come out in the appeals process and the hardship process," she said.
